Blazers Trade Evan Turner To Hawks For Kent Bazemore

Both on final year of contracts

The Trail Blazers made headlines on an otherwise quiet Monday for the NBA. Portland sent Evan Turner to Atlanta for Kent Bazemore.

Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports the deal does not include other assets like draft picks or cash.

Bazemore is an efficient three-and-D guy shot 32% from 3-point land last season. Neil Olshey made a statement following the trade saying:

“Kent is a two-way wing that adds depth to our perimeter, is an excellent fit with our returning players and will transition seamlessly to our style of play. We want to thank Evan for his many contributions to the team.  He was a critical player in our run to the Western Conference Finals and he will be missed on and off the court.”

Both players’ contracts are similar so there isn't much cap room saved by either side.
