Former head coach of the Washington State Cougars, Mike Leach, will leave his position after eight seasons and become the next head coach of the Mississippi State Bull Dogs, reports ESPN.

Washington State and Leach agreed to four year contract extension before the Cougars bowl appearance. Sources came out earlier this week that Leach interviewed for the position. Many speculated it would be a top spot for the coach who owns a vacation home in Florida and regularly travels to the area. Mississippi State fired Coach Joe Moorhead after a 6-7 season that ended in a Music City Bowl loss.

Leach's name has been rumored in many SEC coaching searches throughout the years. Those included Arkansas, Florida State, Missouri and a strange saga with Tennessee.
