Trail Blazers Drop Summer League Opener vs. Pistons

The Trail Blazers started their Summer League title defense with a 93-74 loss to the Pistons, Saturday. Detroit lead by as much as 16 in the first half. Anfernee Simons carried the torch for Rip City, putting up 15 points on 5-of-14 shooting from the field and 1-of-4 from three. Gary Trent Jr. scored double figures, going 3-of-12 from the field and 2-of-5 from three for 10 points in 23 minutes. 

Portland was able to bounce back, outscoring Motor City 24-17 in the second quarter. But the Pistons produced five players in double figures and pulled ahead late. Rip City laces them up again tomorrow against the Rockets. Below are the highlights:
